Zenbre Z4 Bluetooth Speaker Review 2020 Latest Updated Review
The Zenbre Z4 Bluetooth Speaker is a hearty, well-made speaker. The speaker boasts an impressive 20-hour playtime and has enhanced bass
The Zenbre Z4 Bluetooth Speaker is surprisingly powerful for a smaller tower speaker.
The Z4 has a 2x5W amplifier combined with 2×2″low-frequency radiators plus a subwoofer.
The Z4 is equipped to provide True Wireless stereo sound when paired with a second Z4 speaker
Design and Features
In terms of the design, the speaker is made of rubber and nice fabric mesh material that goes all around the device. The build quality is solid overall.
The device is relatively compact and lightweight and it has a 10W sound driver.
We have a full control system on the front, a mic, and a hole to attach the strap.
There is also USB port for charging and AUX port.
Also, the speaker is IPX4 water resistant.
Even though the Z4 is running Bluetooth 4.1 the connection will work perfectly fine. Pairing is pretty straightforward and easy.
Once you pair with your smartphone the speaker will automatically connect to your device everytime you turn the speaker on.
You are able to get up to 30 feet in wireless range with a clear line of sight before the signal will start to cut out.
Battery life is also impressive, ZENBRE claims up to 20-hours of playtime at 50% volume.
In my real world testing, I got just over 21-hours with the volume at 50% and 16-hours at high volumes.
That’s even better than a lot of the more premium quality speakers on the market.
The biggest surprise about the Z4 is how loud it gets.
At max volume, this speaker is very effective outdoors, especially in crowded environments. Its one of the loudest speakers under the $50 price point.
Vocals in the mids are bright and forward, very clear and distinct without being harsh or overdone.
The highs have a good amount of clarity but will get overpowered by the mids at high volume.
The bass is ever present but can be a bit tame so if you like bass-rich audio the Z4 won’t be for you.
- 18 hours of battery time
- Waterproof IPX4
- Rechargeable 1800mAh battery
- 2×2” low frequency radiators
- A subwoofer on each cylinder
- Bluetooth 4.1
- Can be paired with smart TVs, PCs, tablets, smartphones, laptop, and Echo Dot
The Zenbre Z4 speaker is IPX4 waterproof, meaning it can take slight splashes of water and not get hurt. There’s some conflicting information about this speaker if they’re IPX6 (waterproof) or not.
Some tests on the internet show it being completely submerged and still fine.
These speakers are light, so they’re easy to transport around.
There’s also a space at the top where you could put in rope or something else to hang it.
It comes with a little rope you could use, but I’d recommend something a little stronger if you have it.
That gives you more options for putting it around your space.
The volume up and down options didn’t work when it was connected through Bluetooth or the 3.5mm aux cord.
I had to change the sound on the device it was connected to.
Sound and Microphone
Overall, the sound on the Zenbre Z4 speaker is pretty good.
At really loud sounds it doesn’t sound as good as some more expensive speakers, but you probably won’t have it that loud too often.
The microphone worked great so if you need to use it for calls.
The bass is pretty good, considering how small this speaker is.
Rock music sounded slightly grainy, but not enough to where I’d say it’s a huge problem.
For a speaker under $40, it has a pretty solid sound. Voice sounds good too, so if you’re a big fan of things like audiobooks, this one works great.
The speaker has an integrated 2x5W combined 2×2″low-frequency radiators and a subwoofer in each cylinder, making it a great upgrade compared to most cheap speakers on the market.
It sounds the best when it’s faced directly at you, but you can still hear it from any direction.
Battery and Charging. The official website tells that it will take about 3 to 4 hours to charge a 1800mAh battery of ZENBRE Z4 fully. The documentation also tells about 20 hours of battery life.
The test shows that the device can work more than 21 hours with 50% volume.
That’s a very good result for the money.
As you probably know a lot of more expensive models have less working time.
The device can work while it’s charging. The battery is “built-in” and can’t be easily replaced
