What to Know About The Rega Planar 1
Rega Planar 1 Turntable is pretty much a completely new turntable compared to the Rega RP1, the only things kept the same are the drive belt, sub-platter, and dust cover.
It features a brand new RB110 tonearm (which has its bias force preset so it can be set up in seconds) and is fitted with Rega-designed bespoke zero play bearings.
It’s got a 24v low noise synchronous motor that reduces vibration transfer and it is the first entry-level turntable Rega has ever made that includes a motor of that kind.
The Rega Planar 1 Turntable comes with a factory fitted Rega Carbon cartridge which is a high-quality moving magnet pick-up cartridge designed to be simple to set up, easy to install, and above all accurately reproduce music.
The Rega Planar 1 Turntable is the Rega RP1 replacement. As such, Rega has proudly proclaimed that the Planar 1 is the most user-friendly model they have ever produced.
A newly designed Thermoset plinth is available in two gloss finishes, Black and White have a massively improved appearance compared to the old model and the on/off switch is located on the underside in an easier reach the place.
The motor cover tray has integrated cooling meaning the motor won’t be allowed to overheat and a brand new 23mm phenolic platter has been included which features a higher quality flywheel effect for improved speed constancy.
The record player is designed for anti-skating, minimizing the transfer of potential energy. And to top it all off the feet have been redesigned so vibration transfer is reduced the stability is increased.
